Raluca Nistor is a Romanian writer based in New York City who writes comedic coming-of-age stories and screenplays with a touch of the macabre. She studied filmmaking at NYFA, UCLA and sketch comedy at UCB.
Raluca has had a couple sketches produced at Just the Funny theatre in Miami and is completing a short horror story collection for middle-grade readers.
When she isn’t writing, she travels the world as a professional bridge player.
Accomplishments:
Multiple final placements in Screenwriting competitions, including Best Thriller for Silver Tunnel, a coming of age story about three kids who go on an adventure in a mythical tunnel.
The only woman in bridge history to win Bridge Player of the Year for New York and New Jersey in 2018 - Bridge is played in partnerships and teams, so she credits this win to her world class partners and teammates.
Two bronze medals at the National Swimming Championships when she was 12 - but only because the best competitors were away, backstroking somewhere International.
Hobbies & Passions
Raluca is a self-proclaimed book hoarder, though she insists that is the extent of her flaws. Totally unrelated, she may soon need a bigger apartment.
She loves binge-watching, reading, writing, illustrating, painting, pottery, rhyming, traveling, discovering artists, trying new flavors, visiting far away-places, and spending endless hours on her best friends’ couches.
Raluca loves her mom and adores Fendi, her daredevil black cat. Her husband is also okay!
